(10 on 10 …. Ten photos taken throughout one day or event, documenting that day or event, and posted on the 10th of each month. Photographers from around the world who met up through The Bloom Forum are participating.)
Since starting the 10 on 10 challenge in January, I’ve been pretty lucky. All of our trips have fallen just in time to be documented for the monthly post. It’s made me sit down to sort through AND edit images that would normally sit on my computer’s hard drive for the next year or so until I finally found the time.
And our latest trip fit right in! In May, my hubby and I headed to northern California for seven days in Napa Valley, Carmel, and San Francisco – a trip he’d set up as a gift for my 4oth birthday. Pretty sweet, huh?! I think he did good!
So I knew I could find one really fun day to document for 10 on 10. I chose our first full day that was spent in Yountville and Napa Valley on a wine tour. Of course the photos taper off later in the day after maybe my seventh glass! But here we go… my 10 on 10 or 11 on 10 to be precise!
We were set up with a driver for the day, really the only way to do it if you want the full experience AND to be safe. I can’t imagine driving after two or 15 tastings! Our driver started us out at Truchard Vineyards – our favorite one of the day. It’s a small, family-owned winery that gives tours by appointment only. It was just the two of us on the tour with our super friendly and knowledgeable guide. Here he is explaining the basics of wine tasting…

Touring the Truchard cellars

From there we headed to Etude for a tasting. It didn’t have the charm of the Truchard winery but it did have a really cool wall of bottles!
