I’m so excited to be living in Asheville for our next fine art photography post. This city is amazing with talented artists on every corner! And frankly, I’m a little overwhelmed and intimidated by the creativity here. Ok, a lot but I hope to find my groove soon.

I skipped last month’s fine art post because I was knee-deep in boxes in Arkansas preparing for our move to North Carolina. And it made me sad to miss a month! But with some encouragement from my sons’ friend who’s featured below, I squeezed in the photo for this post right before we moved.

If you’re new here, I’m working on a fine art series based on the crazy, dirty, energetic life of boys. My two sons provide endless inspiration! Endless. You can see two others from the series here and here.

The latest post was inspired by my youngest son’s birthday party. I bought an adult-sized water balloon launcher and filled 300 water balloons for the party. (Not fun!) But after shooting a few balloons, the boys looked around for something else to launch. And what was the first thing they tried? Each other!

It didn’t work, of course, but what if it did? In my fine art photography world of boys, it could!
