10 on 10…Ten photos taken throughout one day or event documenting that day or event as a practice in lifestyle photography

Last month’s 10 on 10 post seen here was about our recent move to Asheville, NC. I was hoping this month’s post would be photos of us unpacking and settling in to our new house. No such luck. As I mentioned last month, we bought a 1970s “retro” house in great need of updating. From blue carpet to foil wallpaper, it all had to be removed. All of it. Which means we’ve spent the last month living in a hotel, staying at the beach, borrowing a friend’s condo, back to the hotel again, and so on. The four of us, with our large poodle Patrick, have been together for more than a month..every day….all day….together. Close quarters. Together. So when time came for another 10 on 10, I opted not to document one entire day like I’ve done in the past. Sure it’s our life right now but I really didn’t want to document the five of us in the hotel room, eating our complimentary hotel breakfast, walking down the hotel hall, talking to our new friends “the hotel staff,” and being together…all day….every day…together. Shew….

Instead, I decided to use photos from our stay at the beach mid-July taken over several days. It was a fun trip but a little exhausting since we knew we weren’t going back to our old home once the beach vacation was over. The beach did give the boys something fun to do and kept their minds off leaving their friends in Arkansas. We did the usual…beach, arcade, fireworks…and stayed until we were sick of the sand. And now we’re back in Asheville, in the hotel, waiting. Maybe for next month’s post we’ll be moved in! Until then…here goes!
