January 2014 - 10 on 10 lifestyle photography project

It’s a new year and, of course, a time for new beginnings. And for this post, it’s a new start of an old favorite project.

This is my third year to participate in the monthly 10 on 10 lifestyle photography series which originated through The Bloom Forum. The project focuses on capturing 10 photos throughout one day or event, telling the story of that day or event, and then posting those photos on the tenth of the month. I love this project because it gives me a reason each month to capture images of my family. As a photographer, it’s so easy to spend all your time photographing other families and to forget about your own crew. The 10 on 10 project forces me to pull out the camera at home.

Quick update…we finally settled into our new lives in Asheville, NC, and love it. My parents just joined us from Arkansas last month when they moved in next door. Yep, right next door! But it’s been great. It’s a huge help to my mom since my dad had a stroke a year ago. And I love that the boys can run next door anytime to visit. Patrick the poodle is happy since my parents’ dogs, “Rascal and Lizzie” moved here, too. Not sure what my parents think of the set-up but we will see!

So here’s to another year….
